Twin Oaks Community potato planting spring 2009
Garden crew and community visitors manually plant the spring crop of white potatoes in the morning, then Pam roto-tills in the afternoon. We plant two crops per year, typically yielding thousands of pounds, and we store the harvest in a cellar through much of the winter. Visible in this photo: Pam the garden manager, Stephanie (here on a 3 week visit), Valerie narrating the second half, and other community members & community visitors.
